ART that REMEMBERS. BEAUTY that BELONGS

Based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, my work is deeply inspired by the hills, harbours, and shifting light of Banks Peninsula. I’m drawn to the quiet structure of the land and the still, often unnoticed moments that hold a strong sense of memory and place.

I returned to painting during a time of personal loss, and it quickly became a way to process, reflect, and find direction again. What began as something grounding has grown into a practice that continues to shape how I see and connect with the world around me.

My work explores the relationship between landscape, memory, and atmosphere. Working in layered mixed media—often beginning with charcoal to map structure, then building with acrylic and finishing with oil—I focus on creating depth, movement, and a sense of quiet presence within each piece.

While grounded in real places, my work often sits between representation and abstraction, leaving space for interpretation. Colour plays an important role in this—used intuitively to express light, mood, and feeling rather than strictly what is seen.

My creative background began in floristry, where I spent years working with colour, texture, and form. That influence continues to shape my work today, both in my paintings and in the broader collection of pieces I create.
